ML Egeria – A Timeless Icon of Tasmanian Maritime Heritage
Launched on October 20, 1941, the ML Egeria is a cherished emblem of Tasmania’s rich maritime history. Originally built for the Marine Board of Hobart by the esteemed Purdon & Featherstone Pty. Ltd., the vessel was designed by John I. Thornycroft and affectionately known as the Governor’s Launch.
During World War II, Egeria served as HMAS TASMA, a Naval Auxiliary launch for harbor patrol duties. After the war, she returned to the Marine Board and was later gifted to the Motor Yacht Club of Tasmania (MYCT) to ensure her continued use and preservation.
Today, the Egeria is a vital part of the MYCT community, offering charters for weddings, birthdays, memorial services, and more. Her elegant interior, featuring plush red leather upholstery and fine craftsmanship in Huon Pine and blackwood, reflects her timeless charm. She has hosted numerous dignitaries, including visiting royalty and Tasmanian Governors, serving as a proud reminder of Tasmania’s maritime legacy.

Premium Dinner Cruise: $65 per person (1 course), $75 per person (2 courses).
