George started watching powerboats in Lindisfarne Bay in early 60’s. His father was a member in the late 60’s with his trailer boat. In the mid 70’s George started racing and become a member of the Club. George was an active member until mid 90’s when his racing career finished.
George re-joined when his son took up racing mid 2000 and also become the Australian Power Boat Secretary for Tasmania Division.
John again joined the Board in 2020 and is a current joint owner of a runabout with his son.
George has held a limited coxswain ticket since 1982 and has built many plywood pleasure boats and repaired race boats.
